What does lodgement mean?

When you lodge a parcel, you’re handing it over for delivery. Find out more about the lodgement process.

What does lodgement mean?

Lodgement is when parcels are dropped off to us, or collected by us, ready for delivery. Sometimes we also refer to the process of providing us with parcel information via APIs as lodgment too.

The location where a lodgement takes place is called a lodgement point or lodgement facility. That could be a Post Office, your own location, or a parcel facility.

What is the lodgement process?

The lodgement process varies, depending on what your parcel is, the volume of deliveries, the type of business you work in and many other factors.

Some lodgements are a quick drop-off to your local Post Office, while some are more complex – for example, lodging dangerous goods or pallets.

How long does lodgement take?

The lodgement of parcels is quick and easy when the parcels are correctly packaged and labelled.

What happens after lodgement?

After you’ve lodged your parcel, it will be delivered. If you’ve chosen to track the parcel, you and the recipient will receive notifications about estimated arrival times.
